It’s a nearly 3 hour drive to Ft Kearney State Park Friday evening. Plan on an early start at 5:15 pm, and bring a book such as your Boy Scout Handbook to read on the way.
Cranes are in migration, it will be a great sight to see!

Turn in permission slips at for the March campout at the troop meeting on Monday. Grocery Shopping will be Thursday and the slips help your patrol to know who is attending to buy groceries. Permission slips are available on the troop website at http://www.troop42omaha.org/camping-permission-slips/.
Also, summer camp early registration and campership applications are due by April 1st.

Members of Troop 42, plan to attend to the next Troop meeting on March 16th to participate in Order of the Arrow Elections. At least 50% of the troop membership must be in attendance and vote for eligible Scouts to enter Scouting’s National Honor Society.
This same meeting is also the first regular troop meeting for the newest members of our troop. Say hello to them when you arrive: A Scout is Friendly.

After a two-week hiatus, Troop 42 will welcome it’s new members at the next troop meeting on March 16.

Great job on the service project! Almost 20 Scouts, Scouters & parents helped with a very worthwhile service project. Troop 42 is known for it’s service-to-others and this project – originated by the Scouts – adds to that legacy, especially during the holiday season. Again, great job. – Mr. B
Monday, Dec. 22nd is our service project at the Food Bank For the Heartland. Meet at the church at 12:15, depart 12:30 and return at 4 pm. Please wear field uniforms (Class A), but not neckerchiefs.
Tuesday, Dec. 23rd, is movie day. Night at the Museum 3 starts at 12:55

The next troop meeting is at 7 pm, Dec. 15th, at the church. The theme of the meeting is Pioneering, so get ready to build a camp gadget and also brush up on your map and compass skills. This is the last troop meeting of the year.
